NEWS ANALYSIS: Israel's Accelerated Extermination Agenda
Since October 1st, , Israel has accelerated its process of extermination in Jabalia .As Muhannad Hadi, the UN humanitarian coordinator of the Palestinian occupied territories warned “Israeli authorities have increasingly cut off northern Gaza from essential supplies. Erez and Erez West crossings have been kept closed, and no essentials have been allowed from the south. Three renewed orders have been issued – on 7, 9 and 12 October – directing people’s displacement.”
The numbers clearly demonstrate that Israel is deliberately starving the population at an increasing rate:
Reporters on the ground in Gaza are stating that the mass killing is far faster and horrific than before seen in this genocide. Hossam Shabat, a journalist based in Northern Gaza wrote on Twitter:
What’s happening in the Jabalia refugee camp can be summed up as a rapid extermination mission; we have never seen anything like this.
In a follow-up tweet stated:
“Due to the Israeli occupation siege on Jabalia camp, most injuries caused by the occupation's bullets and shelling lead to death, as there are no medical resources or capabilities available to effectively treat the wounded.”
As the UN health cluster reports, the, hospitals in northern Gaza – such as Kamal Adwan, al-Awda and the Indonesian Hospital – “are operating at minimum capacity amid dire shortages of fuel, blood units, trauma disposables, medications for patients with non-communicable diseases and the ongoing military activities nearby.”.
This increased rate of death and destruction is part of the stated plan to forcefully annex Northern Gaza and install settlements. You can read this plan yourself in a pape written by Israeli General Giora Eiland, a close advisor to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. This plan is referred to as the “Einland Plan” or “General’s Plan”. According to Middle East Eye, “The plan was published in late September 2024 by the Forum of Commanders and Soldiers in the Reserves, an Israeli NGO which defines itself as a professional body with more than 1,500 army officers”. The central initiative of the General’s plan is to completely ethnically cleanse northern Gaza by first besieging then starving the entire population.
Eiland was clear about his intentions stating: "The fact that we are breaking down in the face of humanitarian aid to Gaza is a serious mistake... Gaza must be completely destroyed: terrible chaos, severe humanitarian crisis, cries to heaven…”
Further indicative of this plan in action are the massacres like those in Deir Al Balah where 19-year-old Shaaban al-Dalou was seen burned alive from Israeli incendiary bombs while still in a hospital bed attached to IV. Another recent massacre occurred in Beit Lahia Israel killed 87 Gazans. Furthermore, this intensified ethnic cleansing has seen Srebrenica-like images in which Gazan men, boys, and elderly are lined up and separated from women and girls.

The Israeli operation in northern Gaza includes a plan in which US and UK forces are tasked with administering northern Gaza under the guise of “securing humanitarian aid”. This plan involves US and UK mercenaries or former elite units erecting biometrically run concentration camps in northern Gaza. The initiative is being spearheaded by the successor of US company Blackwater, also known as GDC, and further highlights the US’s role as an active participant in the genocide in Gaza.
This new phase highlights the urgency of our movement here at home. This genocide only persists because of the direct US support to Gaza, and the actions we do here directly shape the future of Palestine. We only lose when we let this shock and horror we feel turn into despair rather into action.
