ANNOUNCEMENTS: Updates on this semester
Updates:
Petition:
Today marks the official deadline that IUDC set for our university’s administration to respond to our demands listed on our petition which includes divestment, restoration, resignation and disclosure. Since these demands have not been met, IUDC is planning on escalating in order to have their voices heard and demands met.
Events:
Involvement Fair:
On Wednesday, January 22, PSC will be tabling at the involvement fair. Be sure to stop by our table if you have any questions, want to get more involved or want to find out more information about our club and what events we have planned for the semester! If you are interested in tabling for the involvement fair, please reach out in the PSC signal.
Callout Meeting:
On Thursday, January 30, PSC will be having a callout meeting for the spring semester. It will be at 6:30 pm and as of right now, we will be hosting it in GISB. Stay on the lookout on our Instagram and newsletter for the confirmed meeting place. Be sure to show up in order to find out how you can be more involved in our fight for a free Palestine as well as achieving our demands.
Palestinian Panel:
On January 19 the panel “Marketing the Occupation: Part Three — The Social Media Battleground in a Time of War” will be hosted by Voices from the Holy Land. The discussion will include the resistance from Palestinian advocacy and how that has swayed the media away from anti-Palestinian propaganda. If you are interested in joining, register here.
Redbud Film Screening:
Redbud Books will be hosting a film screening of Palestinian films on Feb. 20, where “No Other Land'“ will be shown and March 13 where short films will be showcased. It will start at 7 pm both days. Make sure to show up and learn more about Palestine’s history.
Reminders:
Kuffiyeh Tabling
We will continue tabling in the IMU every Tuesday as well as in Ballantine every Thursday this semester! We will continue tabling from 11 am to 3 pm. Make sure to purchase your kuffiyeh during these times so you can represent Palestine, show solidarity and participate in kuffiyeh Tuesdays. All proceeds will be going to families in Gaza. The full-sized kuffiyehs will be selling for $20 and the kuffiyeh bandanas will be selling for $12. If you are interested in helping out with tabling, please reach out in the PUG signal chat.
What you can do to be further involved:
As we get ready for next semester and the escalation IUDC is planning if our demands are not met, we need to make sure we have as much help and resources as possible. Please check out the graphic below to ensure your skills are being utilized to the best of your abilities for our cause! Also make sure to continue to stay updated with our organization as we continue our fight for Palestine this semester.
